Les dernières info viennent de tomber aujourd'hui par l'intermédiaire de l'agence reuters.
Elles ne sont pas bonnes :
The 55-year-old Frenchman failed to report back after taking off on Friday (July 1) from Cerro San Juan near the city of Caraz, which lies in a mountainous area known as Cordillera Blanca (Spanish for "White Range").
Murillo, an experienced paraglider who has been flying for over 25 years, was taking part on the 2011 Mountaineering Week, an annual event that involves several activities like paragliding, canoeing, skiing and others.
Right before launching, Murillo said that flying over the region required experience.
"The alley of Huaraz is an incredible place. The conditions are strong and you must be a good pilot to fly here because there are strong thermals and there is also wind, but the landscape is one of the most beautiful in the world," he said.
Huaraz is the largest city in the region called the Callejón de Huaylas ("Alley of Huaylas") that lies between the Cordillera Blanca and the Cordillera Negra mountain ranges and which is a popular tourist destination for adventurers.
Rescue teams have been searching for Murillo since Saturday in an 80-kilometer area in the valley. Officials suspect the Frenchman fell in Laguna Paron, a large lake surrounded by the snow capped mountains.
Murillo was also a respected photographer and has published two books about paragliding with his pictures.
